All about Multi-Focals!
Multi-focal lenses, also called varifocals, are designed to correct presbyopia by providing clear vision at multiple distances far, intermediate, and near all in one pair of glasses. Unlike bifocals, which have a visible line and only correct two focal points, multifocals use a progressive design for smoother transitions. They can be worn all day without switching glasses, though adjustment usually takes 2–6 weeks, with symptoms like dizziness or peripheral blur at first. Higher-quality designs reduce side distortions, and proper frame fitting helps with comfort and clarity. Multifocals are also available as contact lenses, offering a flexible alternative for those who prefer not to wear spectacles.
